April was our penultimate full weekend training before the Jamboree. Another fun packed and busy weekend was had by all. The Patrols had the chance to practice there fire lighting and cooking on wood fires skills for all there meals. Fire safety and Camp hygiene bases helped to add to the skills base of the young people. On the fun side the unit learnt to play the Swedish game of Kubb (cross between chess and bowls using sticks instead of balls !) as well as having an ultimate Frisbee inter patrol championship. On the creative side the unit made woggles, and patrol flags as well as practised entertainment. As part of the clearing up from the weekend we spent time preparing things to pack in our crate, this lead to to the very real feeling the Jamboree is getting close as this is the last time we will see this equipment until we get to the Jamboree site in Sweden ! |
