The 5 Jamboree participant from Aylesbury where invited to the local Mayor Making in Aylesbury Town. With the invitation they were also told they would become what’s known as the “Mayor Cadets”, but in this case “Mayor Scouts”. As “Mayor Scouts” the 5 Young People will escort the Mayor to events and spend days out with Graham Webster the new Aylesbury Mayor. The Mayor Making was held on the 21st of May, at the Civic Centre in the town. While at this event the 4 Young People helped the councillors getting on and off the stage, presented a cheque to the Cancer Care & Haematology Unit – Stoke Mandeville Hospital, as well as presenting a bouquet of flowers to the previous Mayor of Aylesbury. This event was a great success and everyone enjoyed themselves. There were a few important people at this event, David Lidington (MP for Aylesbury), Superintendent Richard List, Freda Roberts – MBE, Graham Webster(Aylesbury Town Mayor) and many more.
