July’s Training day gave the artistic members of the unit a chance to shine, as the unit set about designing a badge. After a bit of guidance on what looks good and what does not from graphic designer Mark Rutland (County Scout network commissioner) the unit set about getting there ideas on paper. All the ideas were then reviewed and narrowed down by the unit members and a final design idea was agreed (turned out to be a blend of 2/3 design ideas). The Patrols then got the opportunity to practice there cooking skills again with a patrol BBQ that each Patrol had planed and shopped for. This proved to be a very belly filling and sociable occasion enjoyed by all. The afternoon saw some planing for some of the future training sessions and a round of speed fund-raising little bit like speed dating, but you find out how others are getting on with there fund raising rather than there likes/dislikes and personality. |
